Research Output Quantification

Research output and impact quantification is becoming increasingly important for funding agencies. For interdisciplinary areas such as computational linguistics, the Thomson web of knowledge database or the Flemish VABB-SHW are unreliable. But there are more appropriate resources for those wanting to count rather than read:

The ACL Anthology Network is based on the key publication media within Computational Linguistics (available in the ACL Anthology). My h-index for this database is 11 (based on 858 citations), which is rank 40 worldwide in the set of the 1000 most productive authors in the database, and the highest of researchers in Belgium / The Netherlands. (2011 data).

Google Scholar has my profile with links to publications. [h-index 36, 5535 citations].

Microsoft Academic Search has yet another profile and allows interesting co-author path analysis. [h-index 27, 2749 citations]

Academic Bibliography Antwerp University (University of Antwerp repository, no links to digital versions)

Competitive project acquisition (1990-2012): ~ 60 research projects, ~10 million euro (not adapted for inflation). For perspective: this is the estimated average cost for less than 1 kilometer of highway (on good underground).
